Kindersley is the vibrant and progressive hub of west central Saskatchewan and has a population of approximately 4,500 (2021 Canada Census). It is conveniently situated along Highway 7, the main corridor linking Saskatoon and Calgary, and the third most travelled highway in Saskatchewan. The community is surrounded by rich agricultural land and a thriving oil and gas industry, all of which contribute to Kindersley’s strong economy and long-term sustainability.

Business Licences

If you are operating a business within the Town of Kindersley that is not a commercially assessed property, you are required to purchase a business license prior to conducting business. This applies to:
• Any home-based business
• Out of town contractors/tradespeople
• Transient/direct traders

Licenses can purchased at the Kindersley Administration Office at 106 5th Avenue East OR can be mailed to us.

Oil and Gas Industry

The oil and gas industry, along with agriculture, retail and other services, is a main economic driver for the West Central Region of Saskatchewan. In a presentation to housing developers, June 2012 in Saskatoon, Gary Delaney, Chief Geologist with the Ministry of the Economy, provided an overview of the current and future oil and gas activity expected in the Kindersley region.
