Meet Your New Councillor: Sharon Haubrich
Councillor Haubrich was elected in our most recent by-election in March of 2026!
A bit about Councillor Haubrich:
I started out as a volunteer in a variety of organizations in Kindersley while raising our family. I worked with my husband at our family-owned business, and later at the Health Region coordinating Volunteer Service, Staff Education and Safety Programs, serving Kindersley and 9 other area communities, before retiring in 2014. I continued to own and operate Kee Sheet Metal and many rental properties until 2016 when I sold the business.
My hobbies are sewing, gardening, knitting, travelling, curling, and exercise programs. I enjoy watching my kids and grandkids participate in many activities, and getting together with friends. I still enjoy volunteering for various projects and programs.
My favourite places in Kindersley are the walking trail, museum, and swimming pool. A couple other favourites include great spots to watch the fireworks on July 1st and to watch the Goose Festival parade.
I ran for Council because I have a deep appreciation for the services we have in our community and all the people who provide them, both paid and unpaid. I feel that my experiences, both work and volunteer, have provided me with knowledge, lifelong friendships, and a sense of how important a community spirit is in working together to help Kindersley to be great place to live and work.
I enjoy meeting and connecting with people and learning about what they do. My participation on various committees and boards, locally, provincially, and nationally in education, health, and church, have provided me with skills that encourage working together and accomplishing goals and initiatives.
My goals for my term on Council include working together with my fellow Councillors, staff, and community to provide and protect the resources Kindersley requires, to be a good listener and help to encourage community relationships.
