Town Council held their Regular Meeting on Monday, November 16, 2020. The following agenda items were resolved.

The Swearing in Ceremony of the Mayor and Councillors for the 2020-2024 term took place at 5pm. Afterwards the first regular meeting of the term commenced.

2.2: The new Council of the Town of Kindersley resolved to adopt the Agenda for the November 16, 2020 Regular Meeting of Council as amended to add: Item 7.7 – Appointment of a Deputy Mayor.

7.1: Council resolved to direct the Mayor and Chief Administrative Offer (CAO) to enter into a Facility Lease and Operating Agreement with 101262721 Saskatchewan Ltd. for a period commencing on the 1st day of November 2020 and ending on the 31st day of March 2021, unless otherwise terminated.

7.2: The Council of the Town of Kindersley resolves to direct the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to enter into a Facility Rental Agreement with the Kindersley Junior Klipper Booster Club Inc. for a three-year period, commencing on the 1st day of September 2020 and ending on the 31st day of August 2023 unless otherwise terminated.

7.3: A resolution was made to direct the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to enter into a Grant of Construction Easement Agreement with Fairview Investments Ltd. on certain lands described as NW 09-29-23-W3M, for the purpose of the Town of Kindersley installing and maintaining a drainage ditch its storm water collection system.

7.4: The Council resolved to direct the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to enter into a Grant of Easement Agreement with Fairview Investments Ltd. on certain lands described as NW 09-29-23-W3M, for the purpose of the Town of Kindersley installing and maintaining a drainage ditch for its storm water collection system.

7.5: The Council of the Town of Kindersley approve the Discretionary Use Application (DU#20-08) for a Home-Based Business at the residence of 29 Frere Street. On the condition that it complies with the Development Standards of Home-Based Business pursuant to Section 4.11.3 (1) to (9), of Zoning Bylaw 04-14. On the condition that the Applicant obtains a Business License form the Town prior to operation, and every year of operation; and that if any of the conditions outlined above are not met for this proposed Home-Based Business, then the permit may not be approved and/or may be revoked.

7.7: Council resolves to appoint Councillor Ervine to serve as Deputy Mayor for a term commencing November 23, 2020, and ending November 28, 2022, pursuant to Bylaw 09-20, being a Bylaw of the Town of Kindersley to Regulate the Proceedings Town Council and the Committees of Council.

8.1: The Council resolves to accept as submitted the list of accounts as paid by the Town of Kindersley and in the amount of $1,584,721.78.

9.1: Mayor Rod Perkins proclaimed Saskatchewan Multicultural Week as November 21 to 29, 2020 in the Town of Kindersley. The theme of the 2020 Saskatchewan Multiculturalism Week is “Building Equitable and Inclusive Communities”. The main areas of work in multiculturalism are: 1. Cultural Continuity, 2. Celebration of Diversity, 3. Anti-Racism, 4. Inter-cultural Connections, 5. Integration. Council urges residents to visit www.mcos.ca to find out more information about multiculturalism in Saskatchewan.

10.1: The Council of the Town of Kindersley resolved to approve the Consent Agenda including the following items: Minutes from Committees – WRLI AGM Minutes November 4, 2020, WRLI AGM President’s Report 2020, Sask Association of Watersheds Newsletter Fall 2020, Kindersley RCMP Detachment Statistics October 2020, Kindersley Chamber of Commerce Minutes.
