On Monday, April 22, 2024, Town Council held their Regular Meeting.

6.1: Council resolved to approve as presented the Minutes from the April 8, 2024 Regular Meeting of Council.

7.1: The Council of the Town of Kindersley was presented with the Financial Report for March 2024 by CAO (Chief Administrative Officer) Audrey Hebert.

7.2: Town Council was presented with the Infrastructure Capacity Assessment by Deputy Administrator Kim Vogel.

7.3: Council resolved to approve the amended Vacation Policy in the Town of Kindersley Human Resource Policy Manual.

7.4: Town Council resolved to approve the Workplace Violence and Harassment Policy; that this policy be included in the Town of Kindersley Human Resources Policy Manual as attached to and forming a part of these minutes.

7.5: The Council of the Town of Kindersley resolved to authorize Administration to make application to the Saskatchewan Municipal Board, Local Government Committee for permission to borrow a sum to not exceed one million, six hundred thousand dollars ($1,600,000.00) for the purpose of cast iron watermain replacement; and that the amount of the aforementioned debt shall be payable upon receipt of revenue derived from utilities.

8.1: Council resolved to accept as submitted the list of accounts as paid by the Town of Kindersley in the amount of $580,111.85.

9.1: Mayor Rod Perkins proclaimed that April 28, 2024 be recognized as A Day of Mourning for Persons Killed or Injured in the Workplace. The Council of the Town of Kindersley encouraged all business owners, workers, and residents to actively participate in educating themselves on workplace safety.

9.2: Mayor Rod Perkins proclaimed the week of May 5 to May 11, 2024 to be Emergency Preparedness Week in the Town of Kindersley. The Council encouraged all residents to participate in educating themselves on emergency preparedness by downloading early warning apps, preparing to shelter in place, and remaining aware of developing situations in the community.

9.3: Mayor Rod Perkins proclaimed every Tuesday in 2024 as Better Together Tuesdays in the Town of Kindersley. He encouraged everyone to learn more about how great things happen when citizens come together; the importance of getting to know your neighbors, and how key intergenerational relationships are. Let’s support our local teens, championing “We are Better Together”.

10.1: The Council of the Town of Kindersley resolved to approve the Consent Agenda which included the following items for acceptance and filing:

  2. KRPA Board Meeting – March 26, 2024
  3. SaskWater Monthly Report
