Town Council held their Regular Meeting on Monday,April 13, 2020.The following resolutions were made regarding special measures for Council meetings in a response to a COVID-19 Government of Saskatchewan Public Health Order, the West CentralAbilities office and dayprogram facility, and the Kindersley & District Plains Museum sewer line connection.

Council resolved that until further notice as provided by a resolution of Council, the following measures are in effect for the purpose of conducting all scheduled Regular Meetings and any required Special Meetings of Council (in accordance with the Municipalities Act, Sec. 125) – 1. Council Chambers, located in the Administration Office shall be designated as the electronic communication facility for the Town of Kindersley. 2.The Meeting will be closed to the public attending in person, so the alternative of live streaming will be available at www.kindersley.ca. 3. Any member of Council participating by conference call or any other available electronic means shall be deemed to be present at the Meeting and retain all privileges granted to them when attending in person. 4.The CAO or designate shall be in attendance at the communication facility for the duration of the Meeting. 5.The Meeting will proceed in the usual manner and in accordance with all applicable legislation of the Province of Saskatchewan and bylaws of the Town.

The Council resolved to commit a total of $150,000 to funding the West Central Abilities office and day-program facility building project.Three payments of $50,000 in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

A resolution was made to pay 50% of the sewer line connection cost to the Kindersley & District Plains Museum in an amount not to exceed $15,000. A discretionary use permit for a Bulk Fuel and Storage Facility at 1021-7th West was approved if all licensing and provincial regulations are met.

The accounts as paid by the Town of Kindersley were accepted in the amount of $336,309.94.

The Council of theTown of Kindersley resolved to approve the Consent Agenda including the following items: Correspondence for Acceptance and Filing (RCMP Kindersley Detachment Stat Report – February and March 2020, Kindersley Library AGM Minutes for 2018 – February 26, 2019, Kindersley Library Board Meeting Minutes – September 27, 2019, Chamber of Commerce Small Business Letter and Small Business Update -April 1, 2020, Government of Saskatchewan Taking Care of Mental Health During Pandemic, SaskWater Operational Report WTP- March 2020, and City of Melfort Cost Savings at Northern Lights Palace).
