Council Highlights – April 7, 2026 Regular Meeting

On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Town Council had their Regular Meeting.

Official Election results were discussed. The Council would like to extend a sincere thanks to Darrell, Brett, Kim, and Nathan for their willingness to let their names stand for election. The Town is incredibly fortunate to have individuals so dedicated to serving our community and its residents.
Successfully winning seat on Council:
  • Councillor-Elect Sharon Haubrich (255 votes)

Councillor Haubrich, a longtime Kindersley resident, was sworn in at the beginning of the meeting. She will be joining the team for the remainder of the 2024-2028 term.

Remaining candidates unsuccessful in their bid for the vacant Council seat were (in order of votes cast):
  • Brett Sautner (110 votes)
  • Darrell Fitterer (92 votes)
  • Kim Vogel (62 votes)
  • Nathan Ward (40 votes)

7.1: Assisting Tim Hortons with choosing the recipient of the funding from the Smile Cookie program was discussed. Council recommended that the charity chosen by Tim Hortons be the Kindersley Legion Branch #57. A schedule was sent to the Councillors to sign up to volunteer with a Legion member to decorate cookies during the week of April 27 to May 1st from 10am to 11am.

7.2: The Town Council resolved to approve as amended the document titled:

  1. “Council of the Town of Kindersley List of Representation to Committees & Boards” – April 7, 2026 to November 23, 2026.

Council Highlights – March 23, 2026 Regular Meeting

On Monday, March 23, 2026, Town Council had their Regular Meeting.

7.1: Council authorized the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer to enter into a lease agreement with the Norman Ritchie Community Centre Management Inc. for the term May 1, 2026 to April 30, 2029.

7.2: The Council of the Town of Kindersley authorized the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer to enter into a Recreation, Arts, & Culture Funding Agreement with the R.M. of Kindersley for the term January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2028.

8.1: Town Council resolved to accept as submitted the list of accounts as paid by the Town of Kindersley in the amount of $885,733.50 and Payroll in the amount of $79,720.78.

9.1: Council resolved to approve the first reading of Bylaw 03-26, Being a Bylaw to amend Bylaw 02-22 the Zoning Bylaw.

10.1: The Council of the Town of Kindersley resolved to approve the Consent Agenda which includes the following items for acceptance and filing:

  1. EK Meeting Minutes – March 18, 2026
  2. Draft WCMGC Minutes – January 22, 2026
  3. Kindersley Chamber Minutes – February 12, 2026
  4. Wheatland Library 2026 Town of Kindersley Stats
