Kindersley Aquatic Centre Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The Kindersley Aquatic Centre will be having their ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, March 13th, 2019 at 1:00PM. Public swimming will not be available during the time of the ceremony. Schedules will be released for the weekend. Everyone is welcome!

Council Highlights – February 25, 2019 Regular Meeting

Council Highlights – February 25

Town Council held their Regular Meeting on Monday, February 25, 2019. The following resolutions were made regarding a new Deputy Mayor, an Easement Agreement with Peavey Mart, and Bylaw 02-19.

Councillor Randy Ervine was appointed to serve as the Deputy Mayor as Deputy Mayor Shaun Henry and his family will be moving from the Town of Kindersley. Mayor Perkins thanked Deputy Mayor Henry for his years of Council Involvement and community service.

An Easement Agreement with Peavey Mart was entered for the purpose of creating a Downtown Community Greenspace.

Council resolved to enter into a consulting agreement with P. Machibroda Engineering Ltd. to conduct a geotechnical study around the existing cells at the lagoon, to determine suitability of locating the proposed new cells to the north.

A resolution was created in relation to a Subdivision Application (T0125-19S) for a Parcel Tie Removal. The Community Planning Division of th Government of Saskatchewan requested that the Council of the Town of Kindersley comment on said application. Council is unaware of any land or site conditions that would be incompatible, there are not any facilities that would be affected by the development, and the applicant does not need to enter a servicing agreement.

Accounts were accepted as submitted in the amount of $525,434.34.

Council Highlights-February 11, 2019 Regular Meeting

Council Highlights-February 11

Town Council held their Regular Meeting on Monday, February 11, 2019. The following resolutions were made about the Highway 7 Corridor Study, amendments to Bylaw 04-14, and amendments to bylaw 03-14.

A Public Hearing was held to discuss Bylaw 01-19, a Bylaw to amend Bylaw No. 03-14, known as the Official Community Plan of the Town of Kindersley. After no objections from the public, the second reading was approved.

A Non-Exclusive Occupancy Agreement with KAWS Animal Rescue was entered for a period of two years. KAWS will be able to use the Town of Kindersley animal shelter to house and care for animals under the conditions of this agreement.

An Independent Contractor Contract with G4 Contracting LTD for the provision of contracted Airport Manager services at the Kindersley Regional Airport was entered. Council resolved to enter into a Letter Agreement with Saskatchewan Power Corporation for New Electrical Service Installations at the location of the future Fire Hall. An Accelerated Work Request Agreement with SaskEnergy for Energy Service at the location of the future Fire Hall was entered. The service was donated by SaskEnergy.

One Home-Based Business application was approved at the residence located at 49 5th Street Crescent West for Gel Nail application.

The first reading of Bylaw 02-19, being a Bylaw to Prohibit Public Spitting, Urination, and Defecation in the Town of Kindersley was approved.
