Council Highlights – October 13, 2020 Regular Meeting
Town Council held their Regular Meeting on Tuesday, October 13, 2020. The following agenda items were resolved.
7.1: The Council of the Town of Kindersley resolved to set the rates of remuneration for the 2020-2024 term as follows: Mayor: $2,500 per month, Councillor: $750 per month, Deputy Mayor: $1,000 per month.
8.1: Council resolved to accept as submitted the list of accounts as paid by the Town of Kindersley and in the amount of $1,169,017.86.
9.1: The Council of the Town of Kindersley is committed to waste reduction, resource conservation, and community education for sustainable living, and Council recognizes that losing waste to disposal and as litter are local and global threats to the environment, Rod Perkins, Mayor of the Town of Kindersley proclaimed October 19 to 25, 2020 as Waste Reduction Week throughout this community. Council encorages residents to join them in taking action to reduce our waste and support a circular economy.
10.1: Council resolved to approve the Consent Agenda including the following items: Correspondence for Acceptance and Filing (RCMP Kindersley Detachment – September 2020 Statistics, SaskWater – September 2020 Operation Report, CN – 2020 Community Report, Kindersley Chamber of Commerce – October 7, 2020 Minutes.
Council Highlights – September 28, 2020 Regular Meeting of Council
Town Council held their Regular Meeting on Monday, September 28, 2020. The following agenda items were resolved.
7.2: Council resolved to authorize Administration to make application to the Saskatchewan Municipal Board, Local Government Committee for permission to borrow a sum not to exceed one million, two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($1,250,000.00) for the purpose of constructing the lagoon expansion and the wastewater upgrades; and that the amount of the aforementioned debit shall be payable upon receipt of revenue derived from utilities.
7.3: The Council of the Town of Kindersley resolved to direct the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to enter into a Can-Net Base Station Host Agreement with Cansel Survey Equipment Inc.
7.4: Council resolved to recommend as representatives: Curtis Sackville, Rod Perkins, Dean Galbraith, and Kim Vogel to the Western Regional Landfill Inc. (WRLI) Executive Board pursuant to the duly approved WRLI, per capita allocation, of four (4) available positions to be filled by the Town of Kindersley; and that recommended representatives may be formally adopted to the Executive Board at the 2020 WRLI AGM.
7.5: The Council of the Town of Kindersley resolves to approve that the Western Regional Landfill Inc. (WRLI) utilize the Town of Kindersley’s portion of the duly established Contingency Fund for future capital expenditures, including, but not limited to, the construction of Cell 1B.
