Flags Lowered to Half-Mast

As of yesterday, Flags at the Town of Kindersley Administration Office and Baker Park have been lowered to half-mast to honour the 215 children who were found buried near a former residential school in Kamloops, B.C.

Town of Kindersley Mayor, Rod Perkins, has requested a Special Meeting of Council, Public Session to be held on June 2, 2021 at 8:00 a.m.  The meeting shall be held at the Town of Kindersley Council Chambers, located 106 – 5th Avenue East, Kindersley Saskatchewan.

The meeting has been called to discuss the following item(s):

  1. Bylaw No. 07-21 Mill Rate Factors
  2. Bylaw No. 08-21 Property Tax Penalties
  3. SaskPower/SaskTel Agreement – U3 Plan 82S40083, W5 & W6 Plan 85S25778
  4. SaskPower/SaskTel Agreement – MR10 Plan 64S14939, MR1 Plan G697 Ext. 2

Council Highlights – May 25, 2021 Regular Meeting

Town Council held their Regular Meeting on Monday, May 25, 2021. The following agenda items were resolved.

7.1: The Council of the Town of Kindersley approved a Discretionary Use Application (DU#21-07) for a Discretionary Use at the residence of 117 Princess Street West on the condition that it complies with the Development Standards of Discretionary Use pursuant to Section 4.11.3 (1) to (9), of Zoning Bylaw 04-14. The Applicant must obtain a Business License from the Town prior to operation, and every year of operation. If any of the conditions outlined above are not met for this proposed Discretionary Use, then the permit may not be approved and/or may be revoked.

7.2: Town Council resolved to adopt the Town of Kindersley Operating and Capital Budget for the Year of 2021.

7.3: Council resolved to set the 2021 Municipal Property Tax Mill Rate at 10.6 mills.

7.4: The Council of the Town of Kindersley authorized the abatement of the 2021 municipal taxes in the amount of $16,501.98 as per the 2021 Municipal Tax Abatements (Non-Profit Organizations) Schedule A, as attached to and forming a part of these minutes.

7.5: Town Council authorized the abatement of the 2021 Municipal taxes, as per the attached Schedule B for properties assessed with no minimum.

8.1: Council resolved to accept as submitted the list of accounts as paid by the Town of Kindersley and in the amount of $509,512.60.
