Council Highlights November 12, 2024 – Regular Meeting

On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, Town Council held their Regular Meeting.

7.1: The Council members selected a time slot to volunteer at the Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie Week events. This year Tim Hortons is supporting the Kindersley Early Years Family Resource Centre. One Councillor and one volunteer from the organization will be at Tim Horton’s decorating cookies Monday to Thursday 10:30am to 11:30am and Friday from 10:00am to 11:00am.

8.1: Council resolved to accept as submitted the list of accounts as paid by the Town of Kindersley in the amount of $797,684.55.

9.1: Deputy Mayor Randy Ervine proclaimed November 16 to 24, 2024 as Saskatchewan Multicultural Week in the Town of Kindersley. Town Council urges residents to visit www.mcos.ca to find more information about multiculturalism in Saskatchewan.

10.1: The Council of the Town of Kindersley resolved to approve the Consent Agenda which included the following items for acceptance and filing:

  1. SHA Aquatic Centre Inspection Report
  2. Kindersley RCMP Report
  3. Kindersley Chamber of Commerce Meeting Minutes – October 17, 2024

Municipal Election 2024 Results

Returning Officer Audrey Hebert made the official public announcement of the newly elected Mayor and Council during a press release held this morning at 9:00am in the Council Chambers of the Town of Kindersley Administration Office.
The announcement was also livestreamed on the Town of Kindersley YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@TownofKindersley/streams
Mayor Elect Kenneth Francis received a total of 637 votes, succeeding challenger Tom Morris who received 244 votes.
Successfully winning seats on Council are the following (in order of votes cast):
• Councillor-Elect Rob Anderson (705 votes)
• Councillor-Elect Shaun Henry (671 votes)
• Councillor-Elect Warren Schafer (666 votes)
• Councillor-Elect Randy Ervine (633 votes)
• Councillor-Elect Kevin Martin (544 votes)
• Councillor-Elect Anthony Barlow (529 votes)
Remaining candidates unsuccessful in their bid for a Council seat were (also in order of votes cast):
• Daniel Baker (513 votes)
• Jennifer Greschner (418 votes)
