Now that snow has melted, our priority is to clean sand and salt residue off the streets. Sand and salt is used throughout the winter months to treat surface ice and ensure that roadways and intersections are safe for travel. Higher amounts of sediment can be found on priority routes, which include main arterial roads, emergency routes, and school zones, as they receive more attention during winter months. The “Subscription” based Kindersley Compost program starts at the beginning of May on every second Friday. Please contact Loraas to signup 1-306-463-2008.
Please be advised that residents are not permitted to prune Elm Trees throughout April 1st-September 1st. Pruning during this time without authorization could end with a fine of $1500.00 as per Bylaw 10-08.
Please be aware of the dimensions of your vehicle. As per Bylaw 04-21, The Traffic Bylaw, “No Parking so that any portion of the vehicle extends over a sidewalk or sidewalk crossing” (Section 14.1 Subsection i). Parking in such a manner may impede or prevent someone with a physical disability from passing. Parking in this manner may cause injury to those passing by.
The properties within the Town of Kindersley will be having a physical reinspection completed by the Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency (SAMA). The physical inspection process has SAMA looking at each property and will identify any changes. The reassessment that happened in 2021 is done every four years and is based on the same property information that was on file. It does not consider any improvement changes or increased depreciation. Welcome to Spring! Now that we can see the curbs again, please make sure that your vehicle does not encroach any portion of the painted curb. Yellow is no parking or stopping permitted and Blue is for vehicles/people with current wheelchair accessible parking placards only.
Leaving waste contrary to the Town of Kindersley’s Solid Waste Management Bylaw (Bylaw 12-19) can result in fines: For an individual, up to $2,000 and for a business, up to $5,000. If you see someone illegally dumping, please report it to the Town office during business hours and RCMP (non-emergency line) afterhours.
Do you know what should go down your drains? We know what shouldn't end up in our sewers... Rags, towels, and other types of material cause extreme damage to our infrastructure. These "rags" were pulled out of our lagoon pump. We thank residents and commercial owners that are diligent with disposal practices... but those that aren't... Please do better!!!!
