Meet Your Councillor: Kevin Martin

MEET YOUR COUNCILLOR: KEVIN MARTIN
Hello everyone.
Some of you may know me from my 6 years and the Great Canadian Oil Change and some may know me as the Executive Director for the Kindersley Chamber of Commerce.
My wife Melissa and I moved to Kindersley in 2012 to be nearer to family and have thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We both realized that this community has something for everyone and the people here have been friendly and helpful.
I believe that by serving on Town Council, I can bring life experiences that I feel will benefit the Town and you, the hard working citizens. Being in the Chamber has also given me a different perspective as to what may be needed in our Town and maybe I can help in some way.
I also feel that this election is important as we move forward in these next 4 years. Projects and initiatives started by the previous council have been great. We just need to carry on that vision as well as have our own vision of the future of this town.
Kindersley is a great place to be, otherwise I would not be here.

Meet Your Councillor: Anthony Barlow

MEET YOUR COUNCILLOR: ANTHONY BARLOW
I am the Owner of Ripper Well servicing Ltd. I have been working for this company for 10 years, and bought the company 2.5 years ago, I really enjoy what I do, the hard work it takes and the challenges that arise with the job, the critical thinking skills, the employees and contractors I have. The Kindersley area has been a pleasure for a small business owner.
My hobbies include hunting, fishing & snowmobiling when time permits. I enjoy spending most of my spare time with my wife Mercedes and my two young sons Cohen and Ace, whether it be chasing them with their sports or getting time teaching and showing them good life values and good ethics.
My favorite places in Kindersley have to be the west central events centre, Motherwell Reservoir & the trail around it, both Kinsmen and Rosedale outdoor rinks, golf course, spray park with the kids, I guess there is a lot.
The reasons I decided to run for council is because I am 30 years old and there is new generation of people in Kindersley that will eventually have to start taking these positions at some point, maybe it will get some attention, get some more voters and maybe even […]

Meet Your Deputy Mayor: Warren Schafer

Hey, Warren Schafer here,
I am excited to have been re-elected for town Council where I have been a member for the past four years. I’ve lived in Kindersley since the late 80’s with my wife and four kids.
Most of my spare time is spent chasing kids around for activities, while trying to find time for a round of golf or a hunting or camping getaway. I’ve worked in the oil field in this area since the early 90’s. My favourite place to spend time in Kindersley is at the local rink or ball diamond with the kids.
In the last four years there have been a lot of projects started and completed and there are a few more things I would like to see completed in the next four years. There have been lots of infrastructure upgrades such as water main repairs, the Motherwell Beach, WCEC repairs, and road maintenance. We need to continue on the path of infrastructure upgrades to keep our town beautiful, sustainable, and viable for young people to set up roots in our community.
