Council Highlights – April 7, 2025 Regular Meeting

On Monday, April 7, 2025, Town Council had their Regular Meeting.

7.1: Each year Tim Hortons asks the Council of the Town of  Kindersley for some assistance in choosing a charity to direct Smile Cookie funding to during the Spring Smile Cookie Week and the Holiday Smile Cookie Week. Council members also pair up with a member from the charity to help decorate cookies during the Smile Cookie Week. This year, for Spring Smile Cookie Week, Council chose the Kindersley & District Plains Museum to receive the funds raised. The funding will go to repair their leaking roof on the main building. At this time in the meeting, a sign up sheet was passed around the table for Council members to sign up to help with decorating.

7.2:  Council resolved to rescind Resolution #62-25 being a resolution to award Finning Canada as the successful bidder for the Mini Excavator in the amount of $132,779.70 as per the submitted tender.

7.3: Town Council resolved to award Redhead Equipment as the successful bidder fore the purchase of a Mini Excavator in the amount of $128,000.00 plus applicable taxes as per the submitted tender.

7.4: The Council of the Town of Kindersley authorized Administration to transfer the Fire Communication Reserve in the amount of $101,000.00 to the Fire Truck Replacement Reserve.

7.5: Council resolved to award Express Excavation as the successful bidder for the Concrete & Asphalt Crushing Tender as per their submitted bid in the amount no more than $23.00 per m3 for material crushed plus applicable […]

7th Street West Park to be Named West Winds Park!

🌳 After 65+ names were submitted for our “Name the 7th Street West Park” contest, Council announced the new name “West Winds Park”!

Council Highlights – March 24, 2025 Regular Meeting

On Monday, March 24, 2025, Town Council had their Regular Meeting.

7.1: After 65+ names were submitted for our “Name the 7th Street West Park” contest, Council announced the new name “West Winds Park”! Council would like to thank everyone for their input, and congratulations to the person who submitted this name!

7.2: The Council of the Town of Kindersley resolved to award Gee Bee Construction as the successful bidder for the 2025 Watermain Replacement. The Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) were directed to enter into an agreement in the amount of $759,850.00 plus applicable taxes.

7.3: Town Council resolved to award Finning Canada as the successful bidder for the purchase of a Mini Excavator in the amount of $132,779.70 as per the submitted tender.

7.4: Council resolved to direct the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer to enter into an agreement with Municipal Sewer Maintenance Ltd. to provide cleaning of sanitary sewers within the Town of Kindersley for a period of 3 years.

8.1: Town Council resolved to accept as submitted the list of accounts as paid by the Town of Kindersley in the amount of $312,082.27.

10.1: The Council of the Town of Kindersley resolved to approve the Consent Agenda which included the following items for acceptance and filing:

  1. Kindersley Museum Minutes – March 11, 2025
  2. SaskWater Monthly Report – February 2025
  3. Walking Trail Committee Minutes – March 12, 2025

Lighting Upgrades in the Coop Arena

This winter we upgraded the lighting in the Coop Arena at the West Central Events Centre. We upgraded from florescent to LED. This change will increase the efficiency of the lighting and help us with cost reduction. This upgrade in our facility was made possible with funding from the Green Initiatives Grant.
