Kindersley RCMP Arrest Two in Relation to Theft from a Local Business

Kindersley RCMP dealt with a theft of a vehicle from a local car dealership during the week of March 11th. Through follow up the vehicle was able to be tracked down and recovered in Calgary. Further investigation revealed there were two suspects from Calgary in Kindersley at the time related to the theft of the vehicle as well as being in possession of other unrelated stolen property.  Both were arrested by the Kindersley RCMP with one suspect being remanded for court in Saskatoon and the second suspect being released with a future court date in Kindersley.

In addition to the recovery of the stolen vehicle Kindersley Detachment responded to a further 96 calls for service between the dates of March 11th and March 24th. The calls for service included, but were not limited to; two impaired driving investigations, two drug possession investigations that resulted in charges, and seven theft complaints.

Council Highlights – March 25, 2024 Regular Meeting

On Monday, March 25, 2024, Town Council held their Regular Meeting.

6.1: Council resolved to approve as presented the Minutes from the March 11, 2024 Regular Meeting.

7.1: The Council of the Town of Kindersley approved the Ice Rates for the West Central Events Centre Arenas as per schedule “A”.

7.2: Town Council resolved to award G & C Asphalt as the successful bidder for the 2024 Asphalt Paving Program as per the submitted tender, and that the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) are directed to enter into an agreement in the amount of $909,799.25 plus applicable taxes.

7.3: The Council of the Town of Kindersley resolved to direct the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to enter into a Lounge Operating Lease Agreement with the Kindersley Curling Club for the term of September 1, 2024 to August 31st, 2027.

8.1: Council resolved to accept as submitted the list of accounts as paid by the Town of Kindersley in the amount of $510,013.10.

9.1: Town Council resolved to approve the Consent Agenda which included the following items for acceptance and filing:

  1. Downtown Kindersley Association Minutes – March 5, 2024
  2. Kindersley Chamber Minutes – March 14, 2024
  3. SaskWater Monthly Report – February 2024
  4. Kindersley Museum Minutes – March 12, 2024
