Meet Our Tourism Advisor: Josh
Originally from Newfoundland, I moved to Alberta in 2015 to pursue my interest in the art industry. I enjoy all forms of art from sculpture and painting to designing and printing, some of my other passions include reading, hiking, and fishing spending time with my animals and enjoying films.
My role here is to not only help maintain and run the Tourist Information Centre with my fellow advisor Aiden but to also design many of the posters and graphics you may see around town!
I’m very excited to be a part of your town this year and can’t wait to plan some real cool events for you all, if you’re in the area stop in and check out our beautiful collections and displays or just come have a chat!
Meet Our Tourism Advisor: Aiden
MEET OUR TOURISM ADVISOR: Hey everyone! My name is Aiden San Andres, and I am one of the new tourism advisors here at the Kindersley & District Plains Museum. If I seem somewhat familiar, then, maybe you’ve seen me around town as I have lived here for nearly 10 years and was part of Kindersley Composite School’s graduating class of 2022. Since then, I have been attending the University of Regina as a Film Production major with some wonderful, and passionate people who all share the love of filmmaking. Recently, I just finished my second of four years in the program, and am back for the summer! One of my favourite things about university is getting to work for the Creative Media Team with the Regina Cougars. We put on an all-student broadcast for soccer, hockey, volleyball, and basketball for Canada West! If you tune in to any Cougars home games and see a replay or highlight pack, it was more than likely made by me!
I look forward to the upcoming months and working with the wonderful people here at the museum, applying skills that I’ve learned from school to create videos and content that is engaging and interesting for you all! Also, don’t forget to follow our pages so that you can be up to date with events that […]
Community Walking Trail is NOT an “Off Leash” Area
Please remember the Community Walking Trail is NOT an “off leash” area for dogs and other pets! For the comfort and safety of others please keep your pets leashed when using the walking trail. The only place your pet can roam without the restraint of a leash is in your fenced yard or at the off leash dog park.“Don’t worry mine is friendly” is a phrase everyone hears way too often.
Maybe ~your dog is friendly~ BUT, the trail (and the streets of town for that matter) are about everyone, not just you and your dog:
– someone else’s dog that is correctly on a leash might not be friendly and yours might cause an unnecessary conflict resulting in injuries for both dogs or owners
– someone might be scared of dogs or may not like dogs and yours goes bounding up to them (You don’t want to be afraid on the trail, why should they be?)
– your dog might get scared by something and react negatively and nip or bite a human or another animal
– there could be hazards that your dog won’t avoid without you guiding them on a leash
– you might miss picking up after your dog if it’s way ahead of you, which might be great for you, but cause an inconvenience for other walkers
