The National Day of Mourning is not only a day to remember and honour those lives lost or injured due to a workplace tragedy, but also a day to collectively renew our commitment to improve health and safety in the workplace and prevent further injuries, illnesses and deaths.

Day of Mourning Proclamation 2023

Mayor Rod Perkins proclaimed in the Town of Kindersley that April 28, 2023 be recognized as A Day of Mourning for Persons Killed or Injured in the Workplace. Council encourages all business owners, workers, and residents to actively participate in educating themselves on workplace safety.

Council Highlights – April 24, 2023 Regular Meeting

On Monday, April 24, 2023, Town Council held their Regular Meeting.

8.1: Council resolved to accept as submitted the list of accounts as paid by the Town of Kindersley in the amount of $403,764.87.

9.1: Mayor Rod Perkins proclaimed every Tuesday in 2023 as Better Together Tuesdays in the Town of Kindersley. He encourages everyone to learn about how great things happen when citizens come together; the importance of getting to know your neighbors, and how key intergenerational relationships are. Let’s support our local teens, championing “WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER”.

9.2: Mayor Rod Perkins proclaimed the week of May 7 to May 13, 2023 to be Emergency Preparedness Week in the Town of Kindersley. The Council encourages all residents to participate in educating themselves on emergency preparedness by downloading early warning apps, preparing to shelter in place, and remaining aware of developing situations in the community.

9.3: Mayor Rod Perkins proclaimed in the Town of Kindersley that April 28, 2023 be recognized as A Day of Mourning for Persons Killed or Injured in the Workplace. Council encourages all business owners, workers, and residents to actively participate in educating themselves on workplace safety.

10.1: Town Council resolved to approve the Consent Agenda which included the following items for acceptance and filing:

  1. SAMA Annual Report Posting 2022
  2. Chamber of Commerce Board Meeting Minutes April 17, 2023
  3. Kindersley Museum Board Minutes – April 11, 2023
