Increased Voter Turnout in Advance Poll

A total of 169 votes were cast in the October 13 Advance Poll, an increase of 59 percent over the last municipal election Advance Poll in 2012.Returning Officer Bernie Morton indicated that voter turnout was steady throughout the day but particularly during the first four hours. Kindersley Voters Elect Rod Perkins as Mayor

An increased number of citizens headed to the polls on October 26 to elect Rod Perkins as Kindersley’s next Mayor.A total of 1182 votes were cast on Election Day. An additional 169 votes were cast during the October 13 Advance Poll, totalling 1351 overall. Ruebecca Fiddler, representing Loraas Environmental Services, presented to Council an overview of Kindersley’s recycle collection service, and raised awareness about a variety of local collection issues such as over-filled recycle carts, or carts that are too crowded to be successfully lifted. Council was provided a detailed overview of the Kindersley Culture Plan final report and the various activities conducted during the year-long consultation process to develop the plan. Members of the Kindersley Culture Plan Advisory Committee, led by Sharon Haubrich, spoke about the main themes that emerged in the Culture Plan, which form the basis for a variety of initiatives and actions that are recommended as the Culture Plan is implemented in the community.
