On Monday, April 7, 2025, Town Council had their Regular Meeting. 7.1: Each year Tim Hortons asks the Council of the Town of Kindersley for some assistance in choosing a charity to direct Smile Cookie funding to during the Spring Smile Cookie Week and the Holiday Smile Cookie Week. Council members also pair up with a member from the charity to help decorate cookies during the Smile Cookie Week. A message from the Coleville Daycare Committee: Due to lack of ticket purchases, the Surf and Turf for Tots has unfortunately had to be cancelled for this year. Those who have purchased tickets will be contacted next week for full refunds. Items which have been donated for the event will be utilized at another auction fundraising event once the committee can organize and plan one for the future. From April 7th to April 30th, photos submitted to us will be added to our photography contest to be featured on our new Town of Kindersley post cards. Please submit your photos here: https://www.kindersley.ca/community/featured-images/ Criteria to be considered includes: 1. Beautiful scenery 2. Must be your own original photo 3. Must have been taken in the Kindersley area 4. Must be a recent photo (taken in 2024 or 2025) A winner will be chosen and announced in May! Even if you are not a successful winner, your photo will still be featured on the Town of Kindersley website and social channels.
Upcoming Construction We would like to inform the public that starting in the spring, Main Street from 7th Ave to 11th Ave will be closed for an extended period due to critical infrastructure work. This closure is necessary to replace the existing watermains and reconstruct the road to improve safety and service reliability. A contractor has already been awarded the project and will begin work in the coming weeks. Detours and alternate routes will be clearly marked to help drivers navigate around the construction area. ELM TREE PRUNING BANS STARTED ON TUESDAY! April 1 to August 31. Dutch Elm Disease (DED) is a deadly fungus that can kill an elm in as little as three weeks by clogging its water-conducting vessels. Once a tree is infected by DED, it needs to be removed and disposed of properly by either burying it or burning it. The Town of Kindersley is dedicated to keeping DED out of our community.
