You may have noticed a change to our skyline here in Kindersley. On July 19 our 1912 water tower was demolished. Although it was a historic icon in our town, due to structural integrity, it had to be removed. We will be creating a commemorative piece for it in the near future.

Interesting facts about the tower:

  • Constructed by John Galt Engineering Co.
  • Capacity 100,000 gallons
  • Steel Construction
  • 107′ 6″ high
  • Total structure including legs weighed 122,000 lbs
  • Tank weighed 85,000 lbs
  • The original drawing can be found at the Kindersley & District Plains Museum
