HEY BUSINESS COMMUNITY! Huge thank you to those who have already gotten their properties in order for spring, we were excited to see how many properties were so quickly cleaned up when the snow melted!
Friendly reminder that if you haven’t done any spring cleaning on your property, it’s June 2nd and it’s a great time to start! Here is a checklist of items to take care of:
– Overgrown weeds and grass
– Junk vehicles
– Inappropriate storage of materials
– Fences requiring repair
– Dilapidated buildings
– Call Animal Control or the Conservation Officers for nuisance animals (pets vs. wildlife)
– Pet wastes
– Overgrown/hazardous trees (remember elm tree pruning ban is on until August 31)
– Inappropriate water drainage
– Keeping your back alley tidy
You are responsible for the front/sides of your property, your back property area, the alley adjoining your property, and the adjoining boulevard. You are also responsible for the property you own, whether you live in town or not and whether there is a building/business/rental space on it or not.
Organic waste (leaves, trees, grass, etc.) can be taken to the compost pile located at our old landfill on Highway 21 near Western Salvage. Please be sure to remove all plastic bags when you drop off your compost. You can also obtain a commercial compost pickup bin from Loraas by calling 306-463-2008.
