Doing some spring cleaning? Have some yard waste to get rid of? Items allowed in our compost pile include: leaves, grass clippings, last year’s flowers – or this year’s if you don’t have a green thumb and they’ve already died (we won’t judge). The compost pile is located at the old landfill on Highway 21, by Western Salvage. A little friendly housekeeping: be sure to take your garden waste out of the plastic bags you may have brought it in and put it on the compost pile, not outside the gate, not in front of the gate, or elsewhere on the property, just on the compost pile. Be sure to put that plastic bag in the garbage where it belongs or reuse it to haul more leaves next time! Or better yet, use plastic reusable bins or clean garbage cans to get your garden waste to the compost pile. Thanks again for composting and helping to keep our town looking fantastic! Those of you who think we’re being AnNoYiNg, thanks for bearing with us, we know the *rules* get repetitive, but we’re trying to make this as quick and painless as possible!
