Beginning late April/early May, the process to replace the existing traffic lights along downtown Main Street will get underway.

New traffic signals and LED lights will be installed at all four existing traffic signal intersections between 1st Avenue and 5th Avenue, and will consist of standard davit arms that extend over the center of the street for greater visibility and safety for motorists.

This is a capital project that was budgeted in 2016 and postponed due to weather and delay in shipment of supplies.

Efforts will be made to reduce disruption to traffic and pedestrians but there may be road and/or lane closures for short periods of time. 4-way stop signs will be in place while lights are out of commission. The Town and contractor RGM Contracting Inc. will be working in cooperation with SaskPower to remove existing street light standards at the same time in order to make the project move forward smoothly.

The traffic signal replacement project does not include the intersection of Highway 7 and Main Street.
