Boards and Committees

Council of the Town of Kindersley appoints members to a variety of community committees and boards on a semi-annual basis. Many involve representation from other neighbouring rural municipalities, community organizations, and citizens at large. Kindersley Airport Advisory Board

The Kindersley Airport Advisory Board was established in 2008 to oversee operations, development and marketing of the Kindersley Regional Airport . The Board makes all recommendations directly to the Town of Kindersley and other participating rural municipalities.

Arts Culture and Heritage Advisory Group

The Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Group exists to support arts and heritage within the community, enhance the cultural of the Town of Kindersley and promote growth in its unique identity through cultural arts.

This group serves in an advisory role and as a resource for the Town of Kindersley and its cultural programming groups on matters pertaining to the arts, culture and heritage Kindersley. This may include but is not limited to the following:

  • Support initiatives and strategic direction relating to arts, culture and heritage undertaken by the Town of Kindersley;
  • Recommend strategies to increase arts, culture and heritage services within the community;
  • Support and explore opportunities for major cultural arts events or festivals within the community;
  • Provide a regular forum for discussion, solutions and assistance relating to arts, culture and heritage interpretation, development and presentation;
  • Promote participation as well as the values and benefits of arts, culture and heritage programming.

Cemetery Committee

The Cemetery Committee serves in an advisory capacity, monitoring and making recommendations to Council about matters pertaining to the operation and maintenance of the cemetery.

Communities in Bloom Committee

The Communities in Bloom Committee is responsible for the design and implementation of a wide range of beautification and community improvement projects. This includes planting trees and flowers, heritage conservation, and environmental initiatives.

Communities in Bloom is a Canadian non-profit organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification through community involvement and the challenge of a national program, with focus on enhancing green spaces in communities.

Development Appeals Board

The Development Appeals Board consists of a minimum of three members responsible for hearing appeals and resolving disagreements about the administration of the Zoning Bylaw 04-14 under the Planning and Development Act, 2007.

Kindersley Local Library Board

The Library Board is responsible for setting policies relating to the operation of the Kindersley Library .

Recreation Advisory Committee

The Recreation Advisory Committee exists to enhance communication and the relationship between the member organizations and the Town of Kindersley, and among the groups themselves. This working committee operates in an advisory capacity, providing recommendations about recreation services to the Town and to each member organization.
