Synopsis

Kindersley’s 100th birthday was indeed the celebration of the century. But this historic milestone was almost overshadowed when Kindersley’s 55 year-old arena was ravaged by fire in one of the biggest disasters ever to hit the town. Rallying together, citizens became even more determined to look to the future and not let the town’s birthday go unnoticed.

This fervent community pride is plain to see during the five action-packed days of Kindersley’s Centennial Celebrations. From a traditional wagon train trekking across the prairies, to a reunion baseball game, a six-hour outdoor concert, and much more, it was indeed the celebration of the century. Old friends reunite at a massive homecoming reunion, stock cars spin their wheels around Flatlanders Speedway, youth take a historic walk on Main Street, and Kindersley’s biggest parade ever wows the masses.

Kindersley’s Centennial Celebrations were all about honouring the past and creating new memories for the future. Even the Canadian Armed Forces joined the celebration as more than 40 military and navy personnel visited Kindersley with combat vehicles and artillery in tow to march in the parade and rededicate the cemetery in memory of local veterans.
